Ingredients:
Soaked Mash Dal | Urad Dal | White coloured lentils 1 cup
Soaked Moong Dal | Yellow lentils 1/2 cup
1 green chilli chopped
5 garlic cloves
1 tsp red chilli powder/ paprika
Pepper 1/2 tsp
Cumin ½ tsp
Yogurt 2 cups
Salt to taste
Sugar 1 tsp
Pepper 1 tsp
Tamarind sauce
Mint chutney
Chopped tomatoes for garnishing
Onion rings
Sev nimco
Chat masala
Method:
Soak the lentils overnight. Grind the lentils with the spices to form a smooth paste. Beat the batter till fluffy. Then fry in hot oil on a medium flame. Take a bowl of water and add salt to it. Drop the fried balls into the water. After 10 minutes squeeze out the water gently. Place these balls in a dish. Now take the yogurt and add the salt, sugar, pepper and beat by adding a little water. Pour the yogurt over the vadas. Add tamarind sauce, mint chutney and garnish with tomatoes and onion rings. To add a crunch sev nimco/ papri can be added. It is now ready to serve.
